Please review the following information if you are scheduled to make an oral or poster presentation.
Oral Presentations
Invited talks will be 25 mins (with 5 mins for questions) while contributing talks will be 15 mins (+3 mins for questions).
Please bring your own laptop to project your slides. The conference will provide a USB-C adapter if your laptop doesn't have a HDMI port.
We find it helpful to have a pdf of your presentation as a backup in case of connection issues.
Please be aware that outlets in Japan use type-A plugs (2-flat pin plugs). They are similar to those found in the United States but they don't have the ground pin. The voltage is 100V in Japan.
Poster Presentations
All posters should be physical (there will be no e-posters).
Any suitable material (paper or fabric) can be used, but please make them A0 portrait (33.1 x 46.8 inches or 84.1 x 118.9 cm) size.
Posters will be viewable from Monday (Day 1) to Thursday (Day 4). We ask presenters to take down their poster before the conference dinner on Thursday.
There will be ‘Poster Flash’ sessions on Days 1 and 2. Here, presenters will have 1 minute on stage to introduce their posters using slides, which must be kept to a maximum of 2 pages. Please upload your slides by midnight Thursday Dec 5th JST using the link in the email sent out on Nov 25th. Please submit your slides in pdf (landscape) format and include your poster number on your two slides (see 'List of Presenters' under Program). There will not be enough time for Q&A so we ask that you meet outside these sessions for discussion.
We will also have an opt-in based poster prize. The winners will have an opportunity to give a 10 min talk on the last day of the conference (Day 5) with a 2-3 min Q&A. Sign-ups will start on Day 1 (Monday, Dec 9) so no advance action is needed. Attendees can vote on their favorite poster and the winner(s) are planned to be announced on Wednesday (Day 3).
